Nostalgic Astro Boy Wind-Up Tin Toys to be released in Singapore!

Good news for fans of Astro Boy in Singapore. These 2 lovely designs will be available in Singapore soon! According to the Museum of Shanghai Toys, the Astro Boy Tin Toy should be out by November. The price has not been fixed yet for these toys but confirmed information is they will be on sale at TANG’S STUDIO (VIVO CITY only) and Museum of Shanghai Toys, Singapore.

MnM's Emperor Palpatine Plush and The Joker Snow Globe

Who can resist the Power of the Dark Side? I couldn't resist this adorable MnM's Star Wars plush the moment I laid eyes on it.  Part of the Chocolate Mpire series, the tag says this is the Emperor Palpatine version. Now I know that is not exactly a popular character in Star Wars but all the same the plush is so lovable.. I have not seen other versions but I'm hopeful there are more popular characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader plushes available. Perhaps even a Boba Fett version?

This collectible globe features a vintage version of the Joker with outstretched arms, waist-high in greenbacks and in an obviously cheery mood. But of course, who could possibly be scowling with that much money lying around? You need instant therapy? Just give this lovely "snow" globe a vigorous shake and watch some greenbacks flit merrily round and round the globe. That will surely put a smile on your face, lift your spirits and perhaps take your mind off those mortgage repayments for a while. Who needs snow in a snow globe? Humbug!!!

XXX Movie Temporary Tattoo. No, its not what you think it is!

Yea I know it says "xXx" here, but sorry to say this temporary tattoo is really not promoting the latest sex-capades of Miss July in a white bunny suit (the Playboy variety, geddit?) This rather fanciful and glittery sticker was meant to promote the other "xXx" movie, the one where Vin Diesel is the ultimate adrenaline junkie with an attitude. xXx is the nick of Xander Cage, the character Vin Diesel plays in the movie. While his character is cool, this tattoo is not. You say to wear it out for a party? Over my dead body.

The Crucible Movie Bookmark

I would say that most of the time you could, with  a cursory inspection of the promotional posters and materials for a movie, quite accurately determine the subject matter and tone of the move. The official movie tagline normally offers one such dead giveaway, other obvious clues could come from the design and layout of the movie poster, colours used and especially the facial expressions of the characters depicted on premium paper.

In short, what I really mean is that The Crucible is one helluva serious movie with Daniel Day-Lewis and Winona Rider playing the leads, adapted from the play by Arthur Miller. How's the movie? I'll be honest here, I have not watched the movie yet. However, I do know the plot has a potent mix of witch trials, greedy preachers and a vindictive ex-lover to boot. If you don't think that is dramatic and serious stuff, just look at the dead-pan expressions of Winona Rider and Daniel-Day Lewis on the promotional bookmark. You'll understand what I mean.

This is my Fight Club Movie Water Flask. You wanna FIGHT?

The movie tagline says: "How much do you know about yourself if you've never been in a fight?" While I have taken some time to ponder this question at length and I never really found the answer. I don't see how getting in a fight would make one understand oneself better. Perhaps it would make you finally realise that fancy "killer" right hook of yours is really imaginary and doesn't work in a real fistfight. You will know you've been watching too many Rocky reruns when that one punch knockdown  doesn't happen and yes, it hurts like hell when you get hit square in the face. Its not pretty. Well, imaginary or not, a man has got to hydrate often (that means drink water, you moron) when he's engaged in a strenuous activity. Take a timeout from whatever you are doing and enjoy a refreshing drink from your Fight Club water flask (if you have one) but umm....keep some distance from that Mike Tyson wannabe while you're at it, unless you're really spoiling for a fight.

So then, will getting all bloodied in a fight make you discover yourself in a new way? You tell me.
