Shown here is a complete set of nine Burger King Fellowship of the Ring kids meal toys from my collection of movie-themed items.
Frodo, Arwen, Saruman and Gandalf
Ringwraiths, Legolas, Galadriel and Strider
Gimli
I was actually very reluctant to take out the toys from their packaging but fortunately I found that I had an additional toy for Legolas so I have taken it out for photos. Enjoy!
I was at Century Square in Tampines on this Wed 18 Nov to watch the blockbuster movie 2012 when I csught sight of this lovely cardboard standee of Astro Boy with some words on it. On closer inspection, I noticed something very strange, the promotion sated on the standee advertised an Astro Boy meet and greet promotion for shoppers in Liang Court. I am still puzzled why this standee is in Tampines, shouldn't it be in Liang Court? And why was it placed so inconspicuously next to a Chupa Chups dispenser? So many questions....
Anybody watched The Tuxedo movie from 2002 starring Jackie Chan and a very beautiful Jennifer Love Hewitt? Well, in the movie Jackie Chan plays a chauffeur who unwittingly dons the gadget laden tuxedo of his employer, who is actually a secret agent. Jackie gets into entangled with baddies involved in international espionage. Jennifer Love Hewitt plays the partner and love interest in the movie. The movie is a roller-coaster ride of non-stop action. This is a typical Jackie Chan movie and is a treat especially for his fans.
This lenticular mousepad is from the 2005 movie The Legend of Zorro with Antonio Banderas in the lead of the masked swashbuckling outlaw who defends the people of the land against tyrannical officials and other villains. He often leaves his distinctive trademark Z with three bold strokes of his rapier.
This is an absolutely kawaii mousepad showing the aliens toys from the Disney Pixar movie Toy Story 2. I thought the first Toy Story movie was great, fortunately the follow-up sequel didn't disappoint and was well worth the wait and anticipation.
An artsy looking mousepad, that's the first thought that came into my mind when I saw this Austin Powers mousepad. Kind of like something from the pop artist Andy Warhol don't you think? Its to promote the Austin Powers movie of course.
This is a Babylon 5 baseball cap to promote the television series when it screened on the local channel in Singapore. Anybody watched this sci-fi series? Well I have to be haonest and admit that I didn't really watch many episodes as I'm more of a Star Trek junkie. But the Babylon series should be good, considering that it ran for five full seasons.
The Bourne Identity is the 1st movie in the spy thriller series, the sequels are of couse The Bourne Supremacy and the last one The Bourne Ultimatum. I love them all. The movie tshirt shown here was won in an online contest but you could also get this tshirt for free with your purchase of the movie dvd at HMV.
An interesting item to promote the Raising Helen movie is this handbag, perhaps the marketing guys at Touchstone Pictures wanted something to have something more feminine for this movie.
This is the tshirt given out in Singapore to promote the Herbie Fully Loaded movie in 2005. Lindsay Lohan is the female lead who owns a Volkswagen car with a mind of its own. Did not really dig the movie but the tshirt is alright.
This is a cool MIIB cap in black, MIIB is actually the sequel to the hugely successful box-office hit Men in Black. ThemetalMIIB logo on the cap makes the cap look really fantastic.
There were 3 movie premiums that I won from a Stealth movie contest organised by a local publication. This baseball cap was one of the items, another item is a dogtag with chain which I have posted earlier. The last item, which I can't seem to locate, is a pair of cloth badges with the Stealth insignia. I will update on the blog once I manage to I find them.
This Prince of Egypt baseball cap is an official movie promotional premium from 1998 and "Dreamworks Pictures" is on the back of the cap. I don't recall much about the animation movie but the baseball cap looks good. Its made in Bangladesh though.
From my experience in collecting movie tshirts, most of these items are mostly made in Large or X-Large sizes, and especially if they are made in the United States. These tshirts are really BIG, so I would not be able to wear them even if I wanted to, unless I possess the physique of a WWE wrestler, which I don't. This Titan AE tshirt is an exception, its a size small but I still cannot wear it as now its too small for me. Thats tragic.
