The Miss Congeniality movie opened in Singapore in 2001 on Valentine's Day and I managed to catch the movie during its run. Sandra leads as a klutzy FBI agent who has rather unrefined mannerisms. When a serial killer announces a beauty pageant to be his next target,the Bureau sends her undercover to take part in the Miss United States beauty pageant. She undergoes a miraculous makeover at the hands of her top handler and eventually also solve the case. This is an entertaining movie with good laughs perfect for a lazy afternoon but not exactly thought-provoking stuff..
As for the movie Hope Floats, it is from 1998 and I understand it has more substance compared to Miss Congeniality but I have not watched this movie so no comments.
